Full Disclosure
Another $35 day today, thanks to you.I’m at $300 for income for the month 20 days into the month. I’d like to hit the goal of $500 for the month of November which I think is a realistic goal. I believe in goals. I didn’t start PDN, buy a wordpress theme and hope and pray. I’ve got goals for this site. I’d like to see $100/day in income from this site every day. That makes it a $36,000 yearly income, which while not great - it was what I was making as a darkroom tech, maybe a little more. But then I was trading hours for income. I much prefer trading EFFORT for income. I work hard, I get paid more. It seems only fair. If ‘m pulling 14 hours per day and building links, or writing or finding deals and reviews and news that I think is newsworthy - I’m offering value to you you with this site. Maybe it’s in the form of entertainment as you laugh at my mugshot, or my photos. Or perhaps you’re learning with the links I provide (I’m a big fan of the strobist) you with, or the deals I find for you (Yesterday’s D200 deal at Amazon is pretty good) Â But it’s value. You learn, laugh or whatever from what I made. I think it’s only fair I get paid for my efforts.. Thanks to all who have clicked or bought online via the links. It really does make a difference. I still would do this for free, but waking up in the am and checking my income for the day is so much fun. Thank You.Â
Todays’ issue of full disclosure is not much different from all the others I’ve written. Today is one of my better days at about $35 all from affiliate commissions and all from Amazon. Amazon only offers a 1 day cookie for their ‘associates’ (that’s me) . If you click on a link and it goes to Amazon you have to buy something that very same day for me to get paid. You can’t ask your wife, or sleep on it. You have to buy it now. If you do buy something and need to think about it or ask the boss for permission,  then I ask you to please come back when you’re ready to buy and click the link in the ‘Feed Me column’. It costs you nothing to do so, and you still get a great deal on the products.Â
What I find odd is that most of my income to date comes from recommending stuff on Amazon. Yet Amazon is the hardest to promote due to their short cookie term. But I like Amazon. They sell everything you imagine and it doesn’t matter what you buy - as long as you got to Amazon through one of my links then I get paid. It doesn’t matter whether you buy a Canon or Car Parts.Â
Today is an example of this. Only a small percentage of today’s sales were of camera or photography related items. Most of my income came from Amazon once again:Â
Income
Google Adsense: $3.50. I think this was my best day for Google Adsense ever.Â
Affiliate Programs: All Amazon again. $34.32 and lots of strange stuff for a photography blog. Today I sold a Wii video game, a Kindle eBook, Espresso Glasses, and Music:Â
Items sold:Â
Canon Powershot SX10IS 10MP Digital Camera with 20x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom
Canon Powershot SX10IS 10MP Digital Camera with 20x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom
Bodum Pavina Double-Wall Thermo Glasses, Set of 2
Feliz Navidad: Mediterranean Christmas Music From
Grand Total of  $37.82 in income for today, added to yesterday’s sum amount of $298.05 equals 335.87 in profit for this site to date.Â
Â
Traffic was up a bit at 2188 unique visitors for the day, so a little better than the 2000 visitor cap I’ve been seeing.
And that’s it for another episode. Please consider helping any way to help with the success of Photo Daily News. Thanks! Jim
